About Us
In April 2021, guided by the vision of founder and President Indira Kaur Ahluwalia, leaders from 20 large, medium, and small U.S.-based global development organizations, both for-profit and not-for-profit, joined forces to create CREED and develop the Racial and Ethnic Equity (REE) pledge.
On February 21, 2022, CREED was officially launched. Since then, we have worked collaboratively with the intention of building personal as well as organizational responsibility for strengthening REE in our organizations and sector.
To date, over 110 organizations have signed the REE Pledge.
Today, CREED demonstrates a collective commitment to advancing REE in global development and is a trusted and knowledgeable source that provides the resources, expertise, and collaboration to support this journey for all member organizations.
CREED’s 501(c)(3) status enables CREED to solicit and receive tax-deductible donations from foundations, corporations, public sector entities, and individuals in support of our mission to strengthen racial and ethnic equity in the international development and humanitarian assistance sector.
CREED’s financial operations are administered by our fiscal sponsor Global Impact (TIN (52-1273585). Global Impact works on charitable ventures to inspire greater giving. They serve as a trusted advisor, intermediary and implementing partner across the private, nonprofit and public sectors. Through these partnerships, they have raised nearly $2 billion for causes such as disaster relief and global development.
CREED is led by Officers and a Board of Directors composed of leaders of U.S. registered and based organizations from the global development sector.

CREED offers three engagement tiers based on organization type - signatories, affiliates, allies.
Signatory organizations are invited to become full members of CREED by donating annually to build and sustain CREED's operations. Donation levels for signatories seeking full membership are based on organizational revenue. Member Signatories have access to all CREED events as well as the Learning Hub.
Signatory organizations that do not make annual donations, as well as CREED Allies, can participate in those activities that CREED facilitates that are open to the public at large.
CREED’s leadership is committed to leading, operationalizing, and sustaining CREED's mission of creating transformational awareness, knowledge, and responsibility for advancing REE in the international development and humanitarian assistance sector. Each member signatory organization is represented by an Executive and Supporting Member.
